My Top Books of 2023

It's finally that time of the year!!!! I may have read less books than normal this year but I read SO many good ones, which makes me happy! Here are some quick stats on the books I read in 2023, followed by the list of my favourites!

2023 READING WRAP UP

This year I read 23 books (defininetly a lot lower than previous years), and of those books read my average rating was 4.3 which I am so happy about! Quality > Quantity was my bookish motto for the year.

Of the 23 books that I read, almost half were fantasy (Throne of Glass and Fourth Wing Series to be specific) and the rest was broken up between Fiction, Thriller, and Romance.

While I did read a lot of new and different authors this year, I did have some repeat faves: Sarah J. Maas, Kristin Hannah, and Rebecca Yarros.

TOP FIVE BOOKS OF 2023

In first place, it was the Throne of Glass series that did it for me this year, I read this entire series the first few months of the year and honestly could not think about anything else for a long time after finishing. If you have not read this series yet I highly recommend!

Following in second place I have The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah! This book has been on my TBR for years and years, but I am sooo happy I finally committed to reading it. It broke my heart, put it back together, broke it again. This book was everything I needed it to be and more.

In third, we have the Fourth Wing series! Both books in this series came out this year and took over bookstagram (and so it should have!!!). This series is the perfect mix of fantasy, romannce, and mystery (??) I sped through both and cannot wait for the third to come out next year.

Bear town, bear town, bear town. People have been begging me to read this book for ages now and I always avoided it but now current me is yelling at past me for not reading it sooner. It’s nothing what I expected, it was real, raw, incredibly emotional, and the perfect book if you really want to feel something. I highly recommend!

In 5th place, we have the second Kristin Hannah book to make the list, The Four Winds. Similiar to The Nightingale, this book made me feel ALL of the emotions and I loved every page of it.

Thats a wrap on 2023, catch you in 2024 for some great reads!
